Maine South Wins State!

Last night my high school, Maine South, won the state championship for class 8A football right here at Illinois! My roomates little brother is on the team so it was very exciting to watch. The football coach, Dave Inserra, was my PE teacher my Freshman year in high school. This is his 8th year coaching the team and his first state victory. I couldn't believe he has been there for 8 years, because my freshman year was his first year teaching, but I guess being a senior in college would make freshman year of high school 8 years ago!!! crazy!

I'm really proud of coach Inserra and his team. This is Inserra's 4th state championship, yet first victory... I think it was about time!

GO HAWKS!!!

"Change Has Come"

Well, the ballots were tallied and the results came in last night, November 4th 2008. The new President-Elect is Barack Obama. This may have come as good or bad news to you, depending on who you are. I know some people are delighted and hopeful that Obama will be the new president, and others are scared and worried for the American people. Whether or not you are happy with the outcome, I think you should acknowledge the fact that record-breaking history was made last night. There's no denying the significance of the events that took place and the change that they will bring to America.

I propose that we all delve into our patriotic spirits, regardless of who your vote went to, and recognize the truly historic moment that we were all a part of yesterday. What's done is done, so let's put our faith in the new voice that will lead America, and give him the support he will need in order to bring about great change.

Peace, Love, & USA.
